Ok need a better ALTERNATOR ?!?

OK so the 85 watt stock alternator just will not cut it, with my rebuild ..
i would like something over 110 more like 130 amps would be great..
I am installing 2 Kc lights 40 amp and a 12 v Pa system in my truck..
i would like to spend under 200 on the re-manufactured one if possible
I need links to sites and advice thx ..
i have been looking around with 0 luck
thxs F.T.E

Also What other types of alternators could fit on my truck ?
I found a 7.3 diesel one for 96 bucks that 130 amp ! could t hat work ?

I just did a 3G swap on my 89 f250 351. I got everything i needed at the junk yard. I got the alternator off of a late 90's early 2000's Ford taurus. I took as much of the charging cable i could off of that car and found a car with a fusable link charging cable and spliced the two together i got the plug too off of the taurus. The only problem with using this alternator is that it is not clocked right for our trucks. The plug and charging cable can't be disconnected until the alternator is unbolted but it works and it kind of makes it look a little neater that way. The new bolts at the hardware stor the 2g butt connector got from hardware store. Spent about $30 on everything

Well "bust my britches"! You live right over the fence from me!

Call RJM w/ your specs & load demand. Your Alt. choice should be slightly above that.

These guy's are local: Wayne Electric Home Page
Ask for the owner & tell him "Mike Jablonski" from the LBPD Motor Patrol Association sent you. He's also a member. Installation is very reasonable.

I'm pretty sure the easiest way to do this is to find an alt. from a diesel and simply drop it in. No mods-nothing.

Depends on the size & there's definitely a wiring mod going to a 3G.

Ya, he's a great guy. Alway's nice to know the owner. He has the city's contract so he buys in quantity. You just need to tally your total Amperage load (he'll help you w/ that too) & he'll set you up w/ the correct size & configuration. He has most all flavors in stock. You don't want it running at capacity all the time so as mentioned by others, you may be into a higher than 130, or service life will be compromised.

I dont know what diesel alt you are talking about but a powerstroke one from any year will not work. And by the looks of it my 86 6.9 diesel alt will not work either
