just hit 100,000 miles

Well I just turned 100k in my 2007 F250

Mods are as follows:
Bypass Oil filter, Installed at 20K
Antifreeze filter - Installed at 40K
Power Steering Filter - PH8A filter installed at 50K

No tuner and no EGR Delete.

My only issues, all covered by warranty:
Replaced EGR valve at 70K
Replaced rear main seal at 90K

as far as Maintenance:
Oil change every 5K Shell Rotella T Dyno
Trans service at Ford Dealer every 30,000
Fuel Filters every 15,000
I only use Ford Filters

So in all I am very happy with the truck and plan on keeping it for at least another 200k before I even think of selling it.

Now that the warranty is up, I'm going to do the EGR Bypass and remove the cooler & I'm still looking for a way to add a oil catch can for the engine breather. I just ran a hose out the back of the truck, but it stunk all the time. So I want to add a oil separator to keep the oil out of the intake.

Did you do a write up on the Fram PS fluid filter mod that you did? Do you have a link or some pics? I would love to see your ideas.

Smokersteve,
I am refering to this:
Power Steering Filter - PH8A filter installed at 50K
I am assuming he had some custom hoses made and ran them to a remote filter base to filter his PS fluid, which in our trucks is also the brake booster fluid.

yup, It was very easy.

go to summitracing.com and look up part # 2178ERL

I mounted it in the bumper bracket under the power steering reservoir. . just get about 3-4 feet of 3/8 hose a couple brass barbs. I just split the return line and fed it to the filter. The system takes about 3 quarts of fluid now.

Well I'm not a fan of this mod unless someone is planning on doing some serious HP mods(event at my level I still have the EGR system and zero issues with it*knock on wood*), you might set aside some money for a custom tuner and at least one tune to let the computer know that it no longer should be receiving info from that particular sensor. I say one tune because I don't know if you would want to keep it at stock levels, but just have something compensate for not having the EGR system in place.

By the way, EGR cooler issues are 98% of the time related to Oil Cooler issues, getting rid of the EGR cooler doesn't mean that you avoid the root cause. Now with 100k, the odds of still having casting sand issues is pretty remote, but that is something else to think about.

JJP,
Sounds like a nice truck and you've taken good care of it!

Now that you've got 100K miles on it, when do you plan to drain & change the:
-- transfer case fluid,
-- front differential gear lube,
-- rear differential gear lube,
-- powersteeering fluid,
-- brake fluid,
-- and the coolant?

What fluid brands/specifications will you use?

Do you plan to pull the front hubs off and re-pack the needle bearings anytime soon?

I flushed the brake system out last summer at about 70K lots of gunk. I'll do that again soon.

Power Steering fluid was done this summer

Coolant was done over the summer

as far as the
transfer case fluid,
front differential gear lube,
rear differential gear lube,
and the hubs thanks for reminding me, I'll have to get them done before winter.
