SRW to DRW Conversion
I was reading through the posts and had some additional questions.
1. Axle code ID
3v421f
4L301052L04
I believe this to be a 4.30 Limited Slip 10.5"Ring. Is that correct?
2. When I was searching with a parts locator it did show an option for a 4.30 in the 10.5 ring. It was only available with a 11.25 ring. Does the ring size matter?
3. Also I want to make sure that it is not from a cab chassis. The 11.25 comes with ID #'s of :
2C34-ZA-ZB
3C34-HB
2C34-ACA
2C34-ACB
Do these numbers tell me if it has come off a cab chassis or not. If not besides actaully measuring are there any ID's that will tell me that info.
Also any tips on the conversion will be greatly appreciated. I need this to be a functional Dually for work purposes.
Thanks,
Steve
DRW trucks do not use the Sterling 10.5" differential, so that is why you see a listing for the 11.25" ring gear.
Yes, the 10.5" Sterling does come in a 4.30 ratio.
If I do go with the 11.25 ring gear is there any way in the axle id tag to know if it will match (spring perches etc.) with the truck. I want to make the down time as short as possible. There more 4.30 w/ the 11.25 ring gear so I assume that the cab chassis used the 11.25 and don't want to buy the wrong one.
Also thanks for the quick responses this is extremely helpful!
