I have a 2005 CC with the factory sunroof. I know that clearance lights were available from the factory with the sunroof too. I was looking at installing them on my truck. I've read several threads on this site, that have been very helpful. It's also my understanding that the roof wiring, on a 2005, hooks up behind the passenger side kick panel. I pulled the panel off, but do not know which wiring connector it is. Can anyone help here? I just want to confirm that the wiring for the lights is in the dash already.

Reason: grammar
You will have to trust us, the plug is in the passenger kick panel. In your case it is already occupied with the harness for your sunroof. The harness you have does not have the connectors for your cab lights. You will need a new harness, and the new harness will have connectors for your sunroof and your cab lights, IF you get the correct one. Once you get the correct harness you will easily see which connector in the kick panel to replace. It will only fit in one.
The wiring harness for the cab clearance lights only has two wires (at least it did for mine an 01). One wire is brown, and the other is black. When I popped off the passanger kick panel my existing harness was full, but there was a brown, and black wire in the same location as the harness for the cab lights. I cut the connector off of the cab harness and spliced the brown wire into the brown wire, and the black wire into the black wire. My lights work just fine. I have not seen the 05, but I bet the wires are the same color. I installed my cab clearance lights recently. Good luck.
the existing kits I've seen (e-bay, internet, etc.) never ask about sunroof, or not. I would presume they are a generic kit (only one type of harness) that may require splicing?

Some of them are exactly that. Other sellers might ask the details before they ship so they can get you the correct harness. And of course you can splice and wire it up yourself too. brd666 is correct about the wire colors. Brown is hot for all clearance lights, including the cab lights, and black is just the ground.

Correct most of the kits online are all the same. Therefore you have to splice or buy the harness that works with your truck.
That truck only has the two wires. Mine had a lot more. I think the wire population is going to vary by model year and maybe by options on the truck. But I believe that all '99-'07 are going to have the same connector, but with different wires.
