I plan on ordering 4.30 gears and having a local shop install them. I have a Dana 50 up front and a 10.5 rear. Are these the correct parts I need for the gear swap? Any help would be great.

You have a 50 up front right??? I don't think the dana 60 gear will work.

I have been told that they are interchangeable with the D60... I am waiting for someone WHO KNOWS what they are doing to answer.. LOL

 

Dana 50 has a 9'' ring gear. Dana 60 has a 9 3/4" ring gear.

Looks like 4 Wheel Parts does offer the one you need in a 4.30 ratio.

 

Would it matter though, since he is getting new ring and pinion?

 

Hmm... can't even find anything for a D50 on their site...

 

Carrier bolt count and size is different. 10 vs 12. 7/16'' vs 1/2''. Look at the specs for each in the links I posted. They are different. Precision Gear does offer a 4.30 in a Dana 50.

Yeah, apparently G-2 doesn't offer anything for the D50. So I went with a different outfit that does have it. Should be good to go now! Thanks!

 

Sounds good. The place where I bought my True Trac didn't offer anything either.
