Well the big box of parts got here last night from Canada ! Good stuff for the 428CJ build....the harland sharp shafts look great, The branda T-pan will show nicely.. the FPP windage tray did not get bent in shipping.. all the drip trays made it without any damage also..the thick wall floating wrist pins look new as you said..and Mic'd out perfect.. The dizzy I havent opened up yet ? was that supposed to be the electronic unit ? Just checking as I could see it had a black cap on it... All in all everything looks great Buddy ! Even by getting from Canada by way of pony express thru Alaska ! LOL
Hopefully you'll be able to use most of that stuff. Some requires a little TLC, cleaning, buffing, etc. A bigger load of parts all just went to the scrap metal dealer, but they wern't really re-useable parts. Still a shame to see once coveted parts hit the junk pile. I'm such a pac-rat, but there comes a time to clean house.
Notice my crappy packing job? It's bacause I didn't have room to lay out paper and stuff to cut it and wrap things properly.
I am proud to anounce that I am more than 1/2 through putting things back in order in my garage, and I think it's going to be much easier to work in there shortly.
John...What the hell ya mean ya didnt wrap it good ! Hell i had to get out the 5lb sldge hammer and the coal chisel..that didnt work ..So I broke oiut the plasma cutter and then it took about an hour to get everything out to see it !!
And Glenn's is right..Very Appreciative ! Now about those carbs..maybe a base plate swap !! LOL..Just kidding... But I'd like to see how it was done tho...and how the linkage hooks up to it in that configuration..
OK....I'll take some pics, make some measurements, and detail how I made 2x4 carbs from ones originally intended for single operation. This includes bellcrank mod to secondary carb, vacumm secondary tube without special covers, linkgage adjustment, and idle mixture modifications. Think I will start a new thread on that. Now to brave the rain and go take some pics.
you dont have to wrorry about it today..the weathers bad here also..under a T-storm watch and tornado watch...which we never get.. But i am curious as all hell to see how you did yours.. I aslo read somewhere about a 750 baseplate mod also..which would really open up breathing too.. I'am not sure if pro-form make a kit for these little carbs or not for more cfm ? I havent looked.. Obviuosly they wouldnt be a race carb..but something in between for street and strip..
Well I was only joking Glenn...But if your serious ? I could post pics of it..and it might lead to some side work if your still doing it on the side...I dont know..As your a very busy Man... Did you ever finish the rocker covers for the TP motor ?
Well I'd come out of retirement if you want it done. Just wrap it in $10 bills. Or send up a jug of shine.
My covers are almost done. I haven't touched them since spring tho. I need to tig breather tubes on them so I haven't finished them yet. I should have bought the Comp covers really. That and I've been just putting them off.
Well the offer stands. If there's a problem with that cover just send the one from Blue's 390. Can't charge friends $$$ so you know the price. Either way we'll get one done for you.
