Well good news ... the Aussie 302C 2V heads will fit the 400 no problem .. places to look for them Hmmm try E-Bay, ACF out of Indiana 812-897-4052 he's a distributor of them. I bought Mine from Clay Smith Eng. out of Cailf. 714-523-0530 With all the work done to them like machining for screw in studs and bigger valves installed ,Mild Porting job to both intake and exhuast, Roller cam shaft, Roller rockers, Roller lifters, and hardend push rods and Guild plates. I think I spend close to $3000.00 at Clay Smith's Eng. I think I spent just $450.00 for the bare casting though.

Try http://www.***********.com/newsletter.htm
These folks import cars and parts from down under to various ports in the US. You pay cost of the heads plus the price of shipping from the recieving port. Last time I checked, they were selling hot-tanked and magged complete heads for $350 per pair.

There really isn't such a thing as an Aussie 4V head.

1. All heads made in AU have small (US 2V size) ports and valves.
2. Close chamber heads are from 302 Clevelands only. 58-62cc.
3. Open chamber heads are from 351 Clevelands and had 2 variations on chamber size. I don't have the figures handy but they are very close to the US 351C 2V.
4. 4V & 2V manifolds came on both 302C and 351C engines.
5. Some of the early 70s AU vehicles were sold with large port, CC heads that were manufactured in, and exported from the US.

The average 400 is not a good choice for the 302C heads. Compression ratios usually increase beyond the limits for pump gas. You're better off with an open chamber with compression under 9.5:1

Class over.

Dennis is a good guy and he will guarantee and warranty your heads, the extra price is well worth it.
