hey guys, and gals, what is your perfered method for getting rid of those pesky squieky hinges on doors. Would you rather replace the pins and bushings?
well I would use WD40 on them. When I bought my truck a couple months ago they sqeaked, sprayed them down, no sqeaks. I wouldn't replace hinges until you can move the door up and down like a 1/2 inch, I just adjusted my door up a little bit to take out the slop. Then when its bad ill replace the door with the bushing kit.
ive sprayed wd40 on them several times so far, never tried white lithium grease though. it looks to me the pins and bushings have been changed out already. i notice the noise most when turning as the body shifts. i think i might replace them again.
Yeah, what Diesel said. Good stuff, and it lasts. Wipe off the excess, and work it in. (Good for All hinges, tailgates, etc.) Use it on the strike latches also...
