I have a 2008 F150 5.4 Triton. When I reach 60mph there is a clicking noise that sounds like it is coming from the dash in the instrument area. The dealership changed the instrument cluster and checked the rack and pinion. That wasnt it. Anybody ever experience this and have any ideas what could be causing this?
If it is completely dependent on speed, then I would start looking at things outside the cab. I've heard that the plastic in between the windshield and the hood can sometimes rattle against the windshield.

I'm not familiar with any clicking, ticking nor grinding noises. And if queried I'm sure the plugs will come right out
Kidding, my ride makes all types of noise. If you think its in the dash AND NOT the engine compartment also check the passenger side airbag or the ashtray.
I do believe it is a speed thing but I dont believe its the ashtray. Possibly something with one of the airbags. It really does not sound like its coming from the windshield area. It really sounds like its coming from the left side of the dash/instrument area.
Left side, as in up under the dash around the sterring column? If yes, get up under there and see if the brake controller pigtail is plugged in and hanging loose.
