I wired some parking lot lights for a car dealer that was getting ready to open. They just pulled an F-450 diesel on the lot with a pickup bed on it so I asked them about it. They exuberantly told me how it had a supercharger on it, cause apparently that's what they do to these things. I said, well, it's a turbo diesel, so are you saying it has a supercharger too? Uuhh, yeah yeah. And they took out the front drive shaft too, so it gets better gas mileage.
Riiiiight. I wanna buy a 2wd truck that gets worse mileage than a real 2wd truck. Good luck with that one champ. But hey, it's got a "supercharger".
I bought a 87 cherokee for $600 drove it for 2 yrs then sold it not running for asking price of $900. I was hoping to get $300 and when the benjis starting comming out I said sold. Only vehicle I ever really made money on. But that is amazing... Guess there is a fool born every day.

My neighbor has a 91 Tempo AWD. Apparently they are quite rare. Some guy from the States who collects oddball and rare Fords contacted him and offered him $12 large. My neighbor decided that if someone was willing to offer him that much for it it must be worth something so he kept it. His wife wasn't too happy I hear...
Nah, the only fool is the stealership. They can ASK what they want BUT THE MARKET will decide what they actually GET. Hell, I have an 600 sq ft apartment in the city I rent out, I could list it for sale for 2 million dollars but I wouldn't get it as ASKING price is a terrible determination of VALUE...
Now with all this said, "classic" trucks are all the rage among the inner cities middle class unwashed brigade (along with pabst blue ribbon, i guess it's their 20 year old mid life crisis to try and pretend they're humble or something)
check out the styling of the dealership in that ad. I think it's obvious that this guy has manipulated the space/time continuum and is trying to sell this truck in 1985.

There is a difference between RARE and DESIRABLE. Your neighbor is a dumb@ss.

i agree totally. i just looked at this on the computer and all i can say is wow! no a/c, vinyl seats, not an xlt, not even a good detail and cleaning on the truck. that truck is a $3000-3500 dollar truck in perfect running shape in my book.

Hmmm, a customer of mine just scrapped one of those a few years ago, rare or not, it was still a POS.
