Blue smoke, general question

no problems over here just a general question really. No matter how hot or cold out i always get some bit of blue smoke. the colder weather the more blue smoke. when is nice and hot 70+ its just a haze for a second but now were down to the 30-40 at night and in the morning its just a HUGE plume for a second then just hazes blue, i can let it warm up by itself for 30 mins and it will still be hazing but if i warm up for 5-10 mins ill drive it still stone cold and the smoke will go away obviously. but if its warm and half way up on the gauge its still smoking at idol? seems like a cylinder wash down kind of thing. Id say its the bigger injectors but it did it with stock nozzles, and its on its 2nd set of new o rings. doesn't run funny so i cant complain just a bit annoying that it hazes when im driving for the first 5 minutes.( my cusins truck does the same thing, same injectors)

this is only a cold start, if its been started up previously in he day and let it sit for hours on end and start it stone cold it wont do it. so its just an over night 10+ hour kind of thing if it makes sense?

i could use new plugs to be honest, when its in the 20s a couple cylinders don't light and skips for a second but regardless.

Mine does the same thing with my stock injectors. I figured its bad orings allowing some oil to be burned.

yea, mine does the same thing but with a lot more smoke. Usually, I have to go inside or sit in the truck with the windows up cause there is so much smoke. It'll smoke the neighborhood out no sweat. It's funny though. After about 2 min of this extreeeem smoke, it will kinda die down. Then after about 5 min it clears right up. In between 2 to 5 mins, It'll shoot out a lot of smoke, then stop. Then it might smoke real hard for 10 sec, then clear back up. If I crank it up then start driving right away, it seems to clear up really quick instead of 5 min.

Mine on occasion will fart out some bluish/gray smoke on startup and for the next minute or two if I give it a quick cowboy stomp. I think I may have an injector o-ring starting to lose seal or something. Doesn't run bad or keep smokin and not every startup.

Yeah but it's GP/GPR related. Everyone should read it though if they haven't already.

Hey did you do some injector o-rings recently?

Not recently. I have some injectors with new orings sitting here waiting to go in

Mine does it also Steve and it's getting annoying. When I first start driving it's a light haze of smoke, but when I start off(let of the clutch in 2nd) it blows a decent cloud and blows a decent cloud when I get it shifted in another gear. Smokes for about 3-5 minutes if I get in it and drive. I'm not sure what is causing it either.. turbo could be slinging a little oil into the exhaust for all I know.

Steve, do me a favor. When your driving your truck at night time next.. Get it up to full temp and shine a fairly bright flashlight up the stack or park it under a parking lot light. Let me know if you see a light haze of smoke. Mine does it. I can be at 208* oil temp, go into a parking lot and park under a light, get out and it will be hazing smoke. Does it on high idle as well.

I will get some video when it starts cooling down a bit here. Mine might do it b/c the GPR hasn't worked in the last 2 years, but that has nothing to do with the haze at operating temp that can only be seen under lights at night...

On the tuning thing I was just thinking that there could be a chance that we have the exact same tunes on our trucks, but guess not. lol
