Who did you get the seal through?
I hate to say this but you could have used a garage door bottom seal for half that much and done 2 trucks.

Your truck is too clean!
I can't get mine anywhere near that 😆

Thanks but its' not that clean now as I have been driving it the last 2 years.
The last few shows I have seen just how dirty it is and got thinking I need to do something about it some time

A little clue on how I got it looking that good .......... cab off frame rebuild that took 4 years to do

Google Searched. Nutrend Automotive shipped it. Some company in California marketed it. They were up to about $70, but all of them were the same part. I have no problem getting the exact rigth part which took 10 minutes to install.

on the Intake Manifold I am now pinging online groups. Someone has one sitting in a garage they can turn into hundreds of bucks cash. Feel free to PM me if you have one. Used is fine. Offenhauser 6019 DP. Thanks.

Billy Bob got a tune up. Pulled, cleaned and gapped the plugs. Then warmed him up and adjusted the idle mixture for fall low humidity and temps. He’s running great.

Yesterday, "Willie" (Nelson) got a good engine pressure wash and then a paint-pen to the balancer so I can get him tuned up a bit better. Valve cover gasket is next.

Set the timing on the 4.9L. I eyeballed it when I first got it running, but after adding marks yesterday, I timed it and found it was only at 3°. I bumped it to 10 and it sounds MUCH better. I may go more ,but I need to drive t some first. I then noticed the choke was quite slow to come in on the Chicom Carter knock-off, so I turned it some to get an earlier open. Finally, I had noted on the 20 mile maiden voyage it never seems to warm up. I figured the thermostat was jammed open or rusted, so I grabbed a new one and a gasket. Turns out ,the t-stat that was in there was installed improperly, sitting down out of the groove and the water was bypassing it entirely. I went to install a new one, which is a pain trying to keep it in the recess. Evidently, I failed too, because as soon as I snugged the housing down, it broke an ear off. Guess I missed too. I'm going to "glue" the next one into the housing with a dab of right-stuff in 2 or 3 spots. I'll install them tomorrow. Down to 25° outside.

The ear on mine broke off when I was cleaning the gasket off so someone did it before me.

when I did my thermostat earlier this year, i used RTV to glue it to one side and slid one slid one bolt in as i gently put it into place. You can goop those gaskets up without a problem. Living in FL and overheating in August, I took my thermostat down to 180 from the standard 195.

good luck.

Need to do:
Took truck to work again today and it was a bit colder, 32° so the choke stayed on almost all the way to work a 45 minute drive. Yesterday it was warmer and did stay on a little longer than I liked before I got on the high way,, today was back roads.
Besides the fast idle being on my AFR gauge showed choke was on as it showed really rich.

finally buttoned it all up today I "think"
Replaced the carb/pump and installed a pressure gauge to figure out fuel delivery issues. Had to beat the kickdown lever flat by the carb so it would clear and connect to the kickdown lever.
Runs great, no vacuum leaks finally I am pretty sure. Good steady vacuum and No hesitations, or bogs, fast idle works like it should because it didn't out of the box they had it way backed out.
next jobs, horn and the gas tank, which will probably be put off till spring.

So how dose she run?
Do you have a thread on your project / Summit EFI?
Did not know they had their own.

The only thing I would change is that foam fire starter air filter.
1 back fire it catches on fire.
Also over time it dries out and falls apart and guess where the foam goes?
Yep into the motor, get a normal after market paper air filter.

Thanks for the advice! I bought a 12 inch round air cleaner originally but it was hitting the AC evaporator. I'll have to get maybe a 8 inch round.

It runs great sometimes/bad the others. When it runs great it feels like I doubled the power, then it gets warm or something and it starts sputtering. I guess doing that drastic of changes is bound to come up with some issues. I'm pretty good with a carb but have never messed with fuel injection and tuning for them so I'll have to learn. I think tonight I'm going to go over everything from the throttle body to the wiring harness and hoses and make sure I did not miss something. I feel like it might be a fuel issue but the lines, filters, pump, and regulator are all brand new and recommended for the system.

On the air filter if you can find a 12" or little bigger or smaller? cake pan to fit the filter in you can then cut a hole off set so the assy. will clear everything.
Might need a 2nd pan for a lid and drill the stud hole off set to match.

As for the running part of the EFI you can try posting the issue in a new post and we can see if we can help.
You can also try posting it in the motor area as they have a 300 six thread and I know a member in there has the Holley EFI and has done a lot of "tuning" to get his to run right.

Had a bunch of pavers given to me. Perfect for winter weight? Patio-style flat bed? I can say for certain that the weight has helped in the snow. Just over a thousand pounds of concrete.
