Man, I had nightmares about this very thing when I did my glowplugs last week. Glad you got it out of there.

If you're smart, you'll get a single set of injector o-rings for the injector you removed, and use new ones for the re-installation.

Those o-rings shouldn't be re-used, and leaky ones are going to cause you a lot of grief.

The glow plugs were a "while I had it apart" decision...the o-rings were the primary reason to be in there. Should I be replacing the o-rings even if I hadn't fired it up yet?

They looked good before I installed them the second time...re-lubed it and it re-seated nicely.

My heart sank when I heard the glow plug plink plank plunk down into the bowels of the engine. I didn't care who or how it came out, just so I didn't have to pull the tear the the motor down to fix a screw up.
