i put my truck back together from replacing lower intake gasket. i went to turn it on it ran for roughly ten seconds. then it shut off. i checked the plug wiring and plug wires on 3 and 4 were switched. fixed that tried to start again and there no start just cranks over. what are possible causes the distributer was out and put back in at same spot.
I say this because of an 87 Celica I had that did that when I forgot to plug a sensor back in. I would say pull the codes and see if anything comes up. What would be better yet is if you could do a KOEO test at this point.
This also seems likely since you had to have all of the intake stuff apart which is riddled with all sorts of electronics.

Good call. A KOEO scan will usually tell you what's missing to start, sensor wise.
Any time you remove the dist, you should go back to #1 TDC.......just dropping it back in the "same spot" may put you a tooth off one direction or the other.
thanks all for the replies i checked out everything you all have said and it turns out some how the distributor rotor wasnt seated properly and it popped off some how. how ever put it back on and it was good to go. thankyou for all the replies
