So, I'm in the process of tearing out the 4.6 in my f150. I pulled the intake and under it was a bunch of broken black plastic. The plastic box towards the front of the intake was fine, however I am curious as to what the other thing used to be. Its been there a while too.
As it stands I have one bolt on the starter that I cant see, one on the ac compressor that I cant get to break loose and the motor mounts, most of the trans bolts are out already.
interesting idea, but as far as I know the truck has never been in a wreck, but I have only owned it for the past 4 years. and if they replaced an airbox, you would have thought they would have cleaned the old crap out.
