Installing Guages

Hey Front Range Colorado Guys, or anyone else for the matter.

I got some new goodies, but I am a little apprehensive about the install.

I am very technically inclined... but with computers. I am just now getting into electical and mechanical stuff.

Here's what I have.
Boost with the Riff Raff AIH delete tapped fitting (seems easy enough)
Pyrometer with the Drill and Tap (very very afraid of drilling the manifold, and not 100% sure on how to correctly use the tap)
Trans temp (found diagrams for the maintenance port, so i understand that one)
Fuel pressure with the adapter for that from riffraff (I think I know where the maintenance port the adapter plugs into but I am not 100%, which bothers me)
the potentiometer (I udnerstand the concept of the wiring, but am not sure how 4 guages match up with the seemingly lack of wires on the potentiometer and how to hook that to the existing dimming system.)
and the Glow plug LED ( I know this hooks to the glow plug relay somehow... thats about the extent of that knowledge. and that I might need a fuse and extra wire... ?)

Aso I understand how the tool works, but I am still apprehensive about the wiring in general.

So I was hoping that someone in the Colorado area that has done this already would maybe be interested in having a few beers and helping me either this weekend, or next weekend? I have no idea how long it takes.

Anyone insterested in a project? or just sending me extremely specific instructions
I also have CCV, Fuel Crossover, and oil crossover to install. I have instructions for those too, but I am still worried. That can be another time. I want to get the guages on and drive it a bit, then do the other mods and see if I notice a difference.

Beer??? did you say beer??? Where are you located?

I'm available next weekend (Saturday) and you are welcome to come over to my place - weather permitting. I've done gauges, LED and the CCV. And the rest of the stuff is pretty simple.

Here are some good instructions: Gauge Installations at DieselManor- 1999-2003 7.3L Powerstroke

One thing I didn't realize when I first started is that the pillar goes over the factory one..lol

I live up in Boulder, work in Denver, and my parents live in the Springs, so We are close by all three stand points.
I could do next Saturday, how long does it typically take?

I looked at those, which boosted my confidence, but then it declined again I just don't want to jack anything up cowboying it by myself. A second set of eyes, especially experienced would make me feel so much more comfortable.

It does? That would have thrown be for a big loop...

PM sent... Gauges usually take three hours because I'm **** about wires being in looms, heat shrinked fittings and that's taking our time. Is the pillar painted already?

Now thats a sweet deal there, case of beer to have someone that's been there done that looking over your shoulder.

yes! makes ne feel way mor comfortable. Although I already put the gauges in the pod, and put the pod on... kind of silly, but I like them!! even though they don't work yet

one question though

Is there a way to secure it better than the door seal? I could see that popping out 4 wheeling and being really annoying...

There should be some little plastic tabs to install in the holes. A couple of mine did'nt hold good so I painted some short screw heads to match pod & secured it with those.

I have those, but where do they go into? The post above says the new pillar pod goes over the factory one... maybe I am just slow...?
