1977 F150 4x4 Restoration/Build
I've had my build thread for this truck posted over at FSB for a while and figured I might get some more viewers and help over here.
I'm 19 and going to college so money is a big factor and so is time but I'm hoping to get it done by next summer because I can't wait to drive the thing.
That's a pic of what I started out with. Paid $300 for it and was able to drive it up the drive way and around the yard under it's own power. Towed it to my house because it didn't have any brakes at all. Look at the FSB thread for the rot it had, gotta love new york winters.

There's the project leading up to this point if you guys want to see what I started with and what I've done.
Here's the most recent pics:
My replacement cab I got at the Carlisle fall show this year for $350
Rear axle and suspension is in so far, front end is waiting on me to get the axle painted and back together.
If anyone has a decent set of those front cab mount frame brackets I would greatly appreciate it if I could get a price on them.
I'm thinking mine are a little rough to attempt saving.

Managed to get the front axle and radius arms painted. I did it in the boiler room at my dads work. Pretty damn warm and dry in there.
Also got the caliper brackets and knuckles painted a little while back. Figured now was the time to put new ball joints in too.
Hard to see but here's a picture of the rot in the bottom passenger side corner of the rear window seam. Gotta fix it decent enough so the window can seal good.
Here's where I did some floor patching on the passenger side. One patch by the trans tunnel that's got primer on it for the time being and the one at the kick panel seam that's kinda half assed. Not super proud of either one but it's either make a booger weld or blow through, hard to make it decent.

Bought one of these 3M strip disc's to try out. It worked decent in the drill but was kinda slow so I put it in the air die grinder and it takes the paint and rust off quick, pitted metal it doesn't work that great but otherwise I'm happy with it. It rapes the compressor though.
I'm hoping to get the front axle in pretty soon. The hassle is replacing the spindle bearings and trying to figure out all the seals and everything. I wish I had a good diagram for all of that.
Probably soon the cab is going down to my dad's work for the winter to free up half the garage. It'll be nice to work in a heated area with a nice miller mig welder, plasma cutter and 600cfm air compressor too.
Comments / Tips always appreciated
