New to forum, have had a 2005 v10 excursion with 65000 miles for about a year, 4x4 has anyone out there needed to put a steering stabilizer on an excursion, and has it helped anyone, thanks
The 4x4 should have had one, and some have even installed dual stabilizers. Yes it will make a difference, and even more as the tires get wider and taller. You might want to look into getting one mounted.
I bought the cheapie but good dual stabilizer from Top Gun Customz. It was $89 and I painted the stabilizers black. I didn't want them to be white on a black truck. Check them out! I've got 35's and it's smooth and steady. The cheapies they use are Rough Country brand.
Never heard that one...I've had mine for a while now and no it does not. I think other peoples experiences with a PS failure would probably be a "Weakest Link" senario. Anyone else want to chime in?
yes i have a 4x2. it was always kinda scary even with alignment...until i bought a mount here and put a stabilizer..now its tons better..dont know why they didnt put one as original equiptment..I worried about the power steering issue also..i hear the pump working but maybe because im just sensitive to it...but its working fine.
I don't mean to hijack the original thread, but what are the indication/s of a worn-out steering stabilizer? Would steering feel wobly, more play, etc?
I just really wanted Tao find out if anybody used and aftermarket stabilizer and if it worked better than the stock unit. I had a steering stabilizer go bad on a f super duty dually and the piston cavitated so bad in the cylinder that a couple of times I almost drove off the road and replaced it and it was fine.
