5.4 cold start moaning
Hey guys and gals. When the temp gets failry cold I notice a moaning sound when first starting my truck. After it warms up once it doens't do it anymore, and it only lasts a few seconds on start up. Does this happen to everyone? I think it has something to do with the starter. Is it something I should get checked or is it just a typical cold starting sound. It is the truck listed below. Any info is always appreciated. Thanks, Levi

I've seen simlar noises caused by the starter drive. It seems that it was dry and would sort of "squeel" after the the starter was disengaged.
Do you still have warranty on your truck? If so I'd take it in and get it checked. You may have to leave it overnight though so it's cold enough to make the noise.
