6.0 Powerstroke 2003 engine change to 2005/6

Hi can someone help me with his experiense to change my broken 2003 engine .
Got some offer for a used 2006 with all accessories like turbo and harness , the other is real cheap but only a longblock with some missing parts like injectors and turbo.
Still have my 2003 engine with all good stuff on it except the injectors i think , because thats the point why my engine broke don't trust them enymore heard some bad story's too.
My question is, can i change this 2006 engine with my 2003 computer ? Or also is it possible to use the other 2005 E 350 6.0 long block with my old accessories and 2003 stuff without changing every part ?
Is it maybe better to change only with a 2003 or 04 ?
Thanks and i still looking for some possibility maybe someone can help .Be open for some offers to ,live north of Dallas TX.

you are better off using a complete truck engine then you are a van engine. there is a few things that are different between the 2 but you can make it work. you would need a late modle engine harness as well. the o3 harness will not work without modifing it.
so far as will your pcm work yes it will. its been done more then once.

Thanks a lot cheezit, will pickup a engine tomorrow . got a 2006 Truck engine with all accessories and harness , sounds like it is the best I can do .Year ago I bought the track with 180 000 miles,that it's the half life like the seller said broke 20 000 miles later .
Real thanks nice place ,just moved from Germany to this nice place in North Texas . Workd over 20 years on Mercedes all classics .

good deal. the swap is stright foward. pull the old one stuff the new one in the hole.
depending on were about in dallas you are i may not be to far away.

ya thats a border town... your pretty far north of dallas and fortwoth. I wanna say its 85miles north of me.

Yes we found a nice place on the lake without restriction for less , distance is a little price we pay for this, just an 1 1/4 h to FW . Pick up the motor tomorrow in Houston , will drive with my 2005 E350 6.0 bought this week with 688 000 miles , can not believe it still run little raw but ok. thinks need to change the injectors to.

Hi Cheezit, be back , got the engine and look good.
My 2005 E 350 6.0 started making problems to , for my it looks like injector problems.
Run always a little raw since a bought it a week ago but now it is loosing power to and you feel it is not permanent run on all 8 . How can i check this ? maybe you can give me some good trick too ? It' not smoke and the gas mileage is still 19-20 highway .Have some rattle noise sometime that sound like uncontrolled injecting ? It is not start one time in the morning just next day a bought it , but after spray a little starting fluid it run.
In low rpm like 600/ 800 you hear / see sometimes it is not fire all 8 .
Maybe you or someone can give me a tip, I am a mechanic but never worked on this big diesels . Hope it is fixable still have my other 2003 problem to fix.
Guy the sold my the 2006 engine said it is much easier to lift the cab a little like 1 1/2 half foot and take the trany with out , is that right ?

Oh , forgot something , the other 2003 is not a van it is a 2003 pickup super duty 4x4 extended cab ,

have not ever needed to pull an engine and trans together seems like more work to me. they come right out the front of the truck.
so far as your van goes need to check it for codes. refer to the sticky at the top of the 6.0 fourm that says tech folder. that should get you started.
