I need/want to know what this part number is "02SB-14677 AA" It is a rectangle metal box about the size of a small match box. It is under the dash of my 74 f350.
I don't think it is the horn relay cause i think that is under the hood near the battery.
It has a tab to screw it fast somewhere as well. It isn't a flasher.
Thats not a part number, thats an engineering number. Ford hasn't put actual part numbers on their parts since 1956.
In Ford's parts catalog basic p/n 14677 crosses to the wiring harness for the rear axle shift motor on B/F500s so I doubt thats correct. Does this look like it was factory installed? How about a picture?
That's , not a trailer brake controller. Ford did not have a factory Electric trailer brake controller untill the 21st century. Just the wiring. The customer had to add their own aftermarket one.
What's pictured in the diagram, (erroniously marked trailer brake controller), is in fact a accessory safety relay for the trailer special option. This relay is used for trailer MARKER LIGHT wiring. Taillamps and side markers for the trailer.
Ford uses accessory safety relays like this on a lot of different systems. Early Air Conditioning, Trailer wiring, Marker lamps (Roof lamps, stake bed option etc), Fog Lamps, Dual Batteries... etc...
This is also a diagram for a 1980 and is somewhat erelevant to 1973-1979, and could be misleading. It certainly is misleading with the wrong information added to it.
