Funny how often things start making sense when you get the whole story. I pull a 21' ranger all summer long and a skidloader occasionally and never change from the Spartan aggressive street tune. Just watch my temps when pulling equipment. Works like a dream. By the way I highly suggest getting rid of that POS edge tuner. Or at the very least stop pulling in extreme or your going to be putting another tranny in.

I vote to get rid of it, but then it's not my truck or money.

Yes but you know the old saying that a fool and his money are soon parted. Not that he is a fool I am just of the opinion that keeping the edge would be foolish considering that tuners track record with these trucks.

Not just tranny bashing, but bashing the whole truck. That Edge tuner will kill not only the tranny but the engine too, its been proven time and time again...and now again. When will people learn.

Yeah FORD built a POS, thats always the rant...then we hear what you've done to it.

Many folks have dependable tuned/modded trucks. You need to learn about what works and what doesnt with the 6.0. Youve just been schooled on what doesnt.

Good luck, I would put 100.00 a week away for repairs as long as you run the edge in extreme.

That's your problem right there....those are the only things capable of destroying a TorqShift transmission. When the TorqShift was designed, it was designed to be virtually indestrcutible. An Edge programmer is probably the only thing known to destroy it...

Here's why: You can get amazing power from an Edge programmer, but they don't adjust the shift points or do much with the pressures for the added power.

My neighbor had an '04 Excursion that had a grenaded motor and trans because of an edge programmer. Ford bought back his truck since the issues were prevalent even before the programmer, you may not be so lucky...

I had the oil cooler replaced when it was down getting the tranny in. also the egr cooler was plugged off last year. I put a coolant filter on two weeks ago. I have a straight 3" pipe. No cat or muffler. I love the truck when it's running but hate it at the shop!
Towing with the edge extreme tune is by definition beating on it! Driving with the edge extreme tune is by definition beating on it!

Sorry you didn't get a lemon! you need to throw the edge programmer in the garbage...

edge is bad?

so the edge programmer is no good? Is that just hear say or is there more people having problems? I got it mainly for the read outs. I have the egt, trans tremp, oil temp. and coolent temp. on it right now. I don't plan on using it for more power any more. Is the sct. programmer better and why?

They all have an sct now.(I should have got a commision) I did research on here, I have an sct no studs, and nothing but a ficm in a year and a half Ive owned the trk. 130k on it.
