What other mods have you done? Playing and rolling coal is fun but without proper stuff to accompany your tuner, it can get expensive when something lets go.

or when the police pull you over for excessive smoke.
Like Chris said you definately need supporting mods with any chip/tuner.Either way get yourself a custom chip/tuner so you can have smoke when you want it,but not all the time as black smoke is money out the tailpipe. Most of my tunes it hardly makes any smoke...and it does haul &#@*...
Any programmer will do it. The question is how far does your wallet open?
No offense, but I disagree. You won't get black smoke out of Edge or Banks, etc. If you want black smoke, as in block out the intersection, can't see through it black smoke, it will take a custom tune written specifically to provide black smoke, or lugging the engine to send a bunch of unburnt fuel down the tailpipe.
And of course the power level difference between one of the custom guys and an off the shelf unit that is advertised in all the magazines is simply amazing.

What did you expect when you live in such a liberal city? Then again, if you tried that in parts of Dallas or Houston they might just get road rage and shoot at you, so maybe a ticket isn't so bad.
Just buy a Jetta. Then you can do this:

Blowing black smoke or "rolling coal" is stupid and pointless. There is little worse than a truck needlessly smoking. You fall into the ricer category of truck owners. On the same par as the Civic owner with a fart can and clear taillights.
No...the reason that we need the smoke is to take care of the Civic owner with a fart can and clear taillights, that thinks his car is something special. On the other hand it is nice to be able to have your truck do something that most other vehicles on the road cant do. And the power that comes along with some smoke is very impressive too.

The same reason a truck owner who thinks his truck is something special. It is nice to be able to do something other vehicles can't do? Smoke? Saying that smoke is cool and "nice" has got to be the single most ignorant statement I have heard in a long time.
Set your truck on fire and it will make lots of smoke...

You sound as mad as the dude in your avatar looks!
Smoke is just a "coolness factor". To be honest, smoke is a sign of inefficiency. To a degree, you can't completely eliminate smoke as your power increases. However, the amount of smoke you have when you've got power mods is a pretty good determining factor as to how efficient your setup is. If you can obtain 400HP and produce maybe only two or three times as much smoke as a stock 7.3L will, then that says something. I don't know how possible it is to do that, but still... you get the idea. I'm sure there's more to it than that... guys, correct me if I'm wrong or add to it. But yeah, smoke is fun... only reason I want it is so that I can level the tailpipe with a Honda that has an Obama sticker on it, floor the truck when the light turns green, and fill up his cab with smoke just because. I mean hey... I'm polluting the air! Actually, diesel soot is a dust particle, not a gas... totally blows greenhouse gas threats from diesel trucks outta the water!
