dim dash lights
dim dash lights
the instrument lights in my 76 are fairly dim. when im driveing through town at night i can barely see the cluster. ive checked for shorts and bad wireing ive also replaced all the bulbs with what my ownersmanual says should be in it im planning on installing a tach and i dont want the tach to overpower the instrument cluster any ideas?
go with some led's they are a chit ton brighter than standard bulbs, look on fleabay or this place has them pretty cheap:

I would go with the LED's. I haven't changed mine out yet, but my tach has different color options for the light and I had to find one that was not as bright, the one I wanted was to bright and overpowered my cluster lights.
ive already checked the dimmer and yes, mine has the blueish-green plastic bulb covers to make the cluster green when ur turn on the lights (i like the green tint and would like to keep it)

I replaced the two cluster bulbs and the heater control bulb with the green WLED-xHP6 from the site I posted. Scroll down the page, they are about 2/3 down. They still dim with the headlight switch.
Good call! The all silver is by far my favorite. I put one in my 77 F-150 and then somehow came up with 3 more last week!
