Instrument cluster, new bulbs but dim around 55mph?
I just replaced all 5 of my instrument cluster bulbs in my 1998 f150. Everything looks nice and bright now that everything is replaced but around the top of the speedometer the light is dim. Is this normal for this instrument cluster or could there be a bad bulb or a light blockage? It's frustrating to go through effort to get to the cluster and find out after it's put back together that there's a bad bulb or something.
Thanks for the help

I have a 1997 F150 2WD with the 4.6L V8. I just replaced my 5 bulbs in the instrument panel yesterday. Last night I went outside to check and also found that the area above the 50-70 mph on the speedometer were dim. So today I took the instrument panel out (thankfully I hadn't put the dash back together) and looked at the back of the panel. I saw two small brown bulb holders below the middle wire harness that were behind where the 50-70 mph on the speedo was. When I inspected the bulbs they looked blown. I noticed that there were some brown bulb holders at the bottom of the panel denoted 4wd and 4wd low. Since I don't have 4wd I removed those two bulb holders and moved them to the two spots below the middle wiring harness. I checked the instrument panel tonight and problem solved.
