Dead Cylinder!!!!
Here's a trick for checking if there is a hole in the piston. remove spark plug in suspect cyclinder and then blow smoke(Cigarette) into the dipstick tube with the aid of a piece of rubber hose. You could also use low pressure compressed air. If a lifter pops out due to a bent or broken rocker arm or pushrod, you will loose oil pressure. a stuck valve should make a lot of noise. Is it the #8 cylinder? I have heard that the #8 can fail due to the pcv valve being routed directly into the #8 intake runner thereby sending all the gasses into only one cylinder fouling it and possibly burning a hole in the piston due to excess air and gasses. I re routed my pcv to the center of the intake manifold.
