Hey, I have a stock 351w roller block, that I've cleaned at the machine-shop. I'm wondering if I could make this a 400hp motor for about $3,000 using the stock crank and a set of 351 hypo heads that I already own? And if so can someone please give me a detailed parts list? any advice would be great. thanks in advance!!
A stock shortblock is more than capable of supporting that power level, but unless those "hypo" heads flow as well as AFR 185's you won't get anywhere close to 400hp.
What you're looking at in this simulation is a stock bottom end with 0.030" over pistons , 58cc RHS heads, the Comp 35-420-8 roller cam, a high flow intake like the Edelbrock Performer RPM Airgap with a 750cfm carb, and of course a full exhaust system with headers.
