5-40 vs 15-40
I live in Tx so temp no problemfor oil.You guys useing 5-40 noticed any MPG gain over 15-40.

I am in Kelowna BC I asked 4 dealers 2 said 10w30 the other 2 said 15w40.

Tried both, no noticeable effect on mileage. Staying with 15w40 and doing frequent (heavy service) change schedules.

I have not noticed any mpg improvement. But with NY winters I do notice the engine starts better. So I run full synthetic 5w-40w all year.

My néw truck has 10w30 in it now. I'll be changing to 5w40 soon though. (syn as well)
