1986 cat question

i have a 1986 f150 with 302 efi. im going to put a 1 in 2 out thrush welded muffler on with turn downs before rear axle. my question is it has 2 cats on it. can i remove the rear cat and not cause any problems? i was going to leave the first cat on for inspection. will it be louder if i remove the second cat? or will it sound good by leaving both cats on and just putting on thrush with turn downs?

I have to ask, if you are going to dump it why do you need the second outlet? On the cats, you can always try it with both and remove the second one after, I don't really know just how much of a difference it will really make though.

Another thing, IF you won't get hassled is just leave the cats and dump a straight pipe before the axle before getting the muffler, it shouldn't be too loud but deep, you may just like it.

He's right, no point to dual outlets on the muffler if you can't see it.
