The drivers side mirror on my 2010 F-150 XLT got caught on the garage door jamb. The only part that was damaged was the outer egde that goes around the mirror side of the housing. When I remove the mirror glass, there are four screws that hold this piece in place. Ford says I need to purchase the entire mirror assembly for this one piece. Said the truck is too new for seperate parts availability. Any help? Hate to spend $250 for a $15 piece.
Contact Josh as Tasca (TascaParts.com). If the part really is available, he will know. If isn't and you do have to buy the entire mirror, they are a LOT less expensive than the dealership.
Other than that, there's probably already a few 09-10s in the local junk yard.
Unfortunately the part is not available according to Tasca. They were willing to sell me a new mirror for twice the price they have on their website..ouch! The local Ford dealer is $50 cheaper than them. Have to search the salvage yards.

if it is removable I can fix it, well a Fibrenew technician can if there is a franchise in your area we repair Leather, plastic, and vinyl. check our website at Fibrenew - The Experts in Leather Repair, Vinyl and Plastic Restoration and see if there is one near you or you could send it to one of us, we repair and re-enforce the cracked and broken plastic then re-dye and topcoat it prob around $100.00. There is also a bunch of before and after pics of our repair capabilities on the website - cracked dashes, worn leather on seats , ( the drivers seat is always bad) and my favourite is the screw holes from microphone clips or radar detectors or W.H.Y. it always amazes me how people can just put screws in they're dash to mount stuff ... the repairs are are amazing but i'm a little biased.
Ouch, feel your pain, i did the exact same thing on my Mustang, the housing exploded, but the colored shed ejected without a scratch, so I had to buy the whole assembly minus the shell.
