Are you having any other electrical issues? When you replaced the motor did you check to make sure nothing mechanical was binding?

Nope, I have this problem too and have not found a solution yet. Normally I just pound on the window sill and it starts working. I have found that moderate temps make it better, hot and cold make it worse.

Forum, Help us guys out, My fist is getting sore from beating on the truck to make the window work.

On other vehicles (and I believe mildly on the auto down on my '99), the problem isn't the motor but the window switch. After a while (11 years of service in my case) the contacts in the switch start to wear out. Sometimes they just quit working, other times they get sticky and will stick in one direction or the other.

I would try replacing the switch and see what happens.

That is exactly what mine does, when it is cold forget about it. When it is hot outside it works fine. But hit the glass and it will start to work again.

The click you are hearing is probably the auto down relay for the driver's side window. You could have a corroded switch that is not letting enough juice flow to kick the motor.

Is that relay in the fuse box or just under the dash?

I think that relay is in the fuse box under the dash right in front of your left knee. But it only actuates when the window is in auto down.

I had a lot of weird problems with my power windows and someone posted a thread about greasing the window mechanism with plumbers jelley and other mt. I thought it was bs but my windows all work now. I can not remember if that thread was here or in the 7.3 site. Someone will know where this thread is.

I guess I could pull the panel back off and try that and see if it works then.
