Ok so this one goes out to you electrical experts out there. i have a 2004 F-150 new body style 4x4 super crew and its been doing some weird things lately. i got a code the other day for P0622 which is generator field F circuit malfunction. well i changed my alternator and everything seemed fine for a bit than it blew another 2 codes P1000 and one having to do with a variable intake thing. i dont remember the code off hand. well i cleaned the throttle body put it all back together cleared the code and everything seemed fine again until after about 15 miles when all of a sudden all my gauges, radio, climate controls and window controls went out. the engine was still running and the car drove i just couldnt see anything. when i pulled over and started it up again it seemed to be ok for about 10 min and it happened again. anybody have this problem or know whats up?
OH also i noticed every once in a while ill go out to my truck and the radio will be on. the truck was sitting out for more than 15 min for sure and the radio will randomly come on. its very strange.
If you disconnected your battery to install the new alternator (I hope you did) the P1000 is normal. It just means the PCM hasn't had enough time to complete all the normal diagnostic routines. Generally takes 20 or 30 miles of driving.
Do you have any aftermarket equipment installed? Alarm, radio, amps, remote starter?
