put the the truck in 4 wheel for the first time since the axle swaps and the front felt like it was skidding around the turns, havent looked into it yet but just wanted to see if there was any thing to look for that may cause it?
are you going slow when it is "skidding?" If so that is pretty normal. If it is at higher speeds then you need to make sure you have the same gear ratio. Mine will do little hops at low speeds but it specifically does it when you have the wheel cranked left or right. It is in the the fact that when you have two locked axles and one wheel is turning less or more than the other, it will hop or skid the "slower" wheel.
locked in at 4wheel or 4low my truck hops a little at slow speeds. Pretty damn normal.
If it's a open diff though, why would the tires hop? (mine does it too, only when in 4wd and at low speeds turning full lock or close to it). This is of course on dry pavement. I'm sure you couldn't notice it on dirt/mud/snow.
I dont know the physics to a p but i do know that almost any 4wheel truck will skip or hop a little when cranking the wheel and rolling slow. on mud, no because you would slip freely. dry pavement isnt so forgiving as slippery mud or similar.

Because your changing tire rotation characteristics between the front and the the back axles.

he is right thats why it is really recommended not to drive in 4wd on pavement ur risking grenading the transfer case or something you need to allow the wheels to slip some in 4wd
