As I'm sure Impalaslayer will tell you, they only made the new ones for a short time, as sales apparently didn't support their survival. If memory serves the 4.6 that they came with wasn't really peppy enough for the "Marauder" name, and it didn't get the best reviews in stock form. That is what makes Impalaslayer right by stating the only way to own one is with a blower. I'm sure he'll give you all the ins and outs of the newer version.
Myself, I've got a 65 Marauder out at my dad's place begging me to restore it. My dad has another 65 himself. I used to have a different 65 still, but it was a Monterey Marauder, whereas my current one is a Montclair Marauder. The difference is the trim packages, basically. If I ever do the 65, I have most of what I need to build a 428CJ for it. I know the 65 didn't come with that plant, but it sure would be a good fit. Not sure I'll ever get that far, tho. If I did, the only way that 65 looks good is in black....black paint, black interior, with black steel rims with little dogdish hubcaps....old school evil.

you pretty much hit the nail on the head. with a stock car barely getting into the 14s, it was a pretty pathetic attempt. if they would have gotten svt to do it im sure they would have sold a ton of them because im sure it would have gotten a 5.4 and maybe a blower. even the lamest blown mercs run in the low 13s, mine happens to go 12.5@113 so i know with some stickies id get close to the 11s.ive dumped a ton of money into the car over the last 3 years and i need a break from it, hence the hiboy resto mod project.
