Good question, I'm sure he reused the new TC that he put in my prior trans. It was new stock reman.
But honestly I haven't pulled the inspection cover. The photographer from the lawers office is coming to our shop monday to take pics of the trans, I'll pull the cover for him.

Frank,

I hope you did get the hd version. But it's still not adding up to me. If you look on Ed's site and compare the msrp between the 6u... and the one you posted.

Here was some pricing that was on your op.

Dealer Net Price is $2494.00 with a $1000.00 core deposit.
Suggested Retail is $3325.33.
This price is very competitive with other heavy duty units available in the market today

The suggest retail should be the msrp.

Edit: here are the prices from Ed's site:

6U2Z7V000HRM $3,395.54 $1,000.00 $3,055.98
F81Z7V000HBRM $2,482.21 $1,000.00 $2,233.98

I think its just the regular reman, not the HD version. I went through the same thing trying to figure out what kind of reman trans I have back in April. I can't remember where I found the info. I'll see if I bookmarked it. Here is my tag.

I see, hopefully your lawyer can get you something. Funny how it works, you got to hire a crook to try to get money out of a crook. Good luck bud

well chit. looks more like I DIDN'T get a HD version 3 years ago. I was looking at the invoice, and the pricing matches up to the lower price above, and with labor and tax, I was out the door at 3500 and change. Funny thing is, they gave me these brochures, and papers specifically touting the benefits of a ford HD version vs aftermarket. At least I didnt' pay for something I didn't get, even though I still didn't get what I wanted. I guess I will just have to keep the fingers crossed, that with the 6.0 cooler, and JWVB I should have some mitigating factors into hopefully living a longer life than the original one.

Edit to say this: Actually maybe not. If you look at the description above it says the dealer net price is 2494 with 1000 core charge, and retail is about 800 more. I think the lower price is correct for what I paid. If you buy through Ed, are you paying a core charge, or full retail straight up?

Something doesn't smell right, I would think a fully rebuilt Ford tranny (By Ford) wouldn't have spray painting on anything for that matter, especially over the serial number tag, it would be spotless, clean and dipped like you said Frank. Subscribing again, shees.

Darn it, I was thinking about your JWVB. Without the DP it you would have felt a bigger difference over the stock VB stock. If your DP was already hooked up then not so much. But it's doing its job, and well worth it.

Well I know the case on mine was painted. It was a clean paint job, but nothing that shouldn't have been painted wasn't. And it definitely looked like a much "cleaner" paint job than the paint on Frank's. It was VERY clean. I know cause I was cleaning up the oil from the turbo o-rings leaking, and sprayed brake cleaner all around there, and some of the "fresher" paint came off.

This got me to thinking about an earlier thread, that I was unclear about. Does Jody do something that would otherwise be done with the JWVB. When I got the chip, the form asked if I had any tranny mods, and I selected "no". So I was wondering if he was making it shift different to make up for a lack of an aftermarket VB. And thus, should I have the chip reburned?

PS. I'm not post padding, I forget how to quote multiple people. LOL
