If the intake bolts are 5/16" (take 1/2" socket) then go 35 lb-ft on them, this is what most intakes with such bolts call for. Dunno on the exhaust questions tho...

24 lb-ft, darn - any idea why an IDI with grade-8 bolts uses less torque on said bolts than a small-block with grade-5 bolts? Seems kinda odd to me...

These are stock specs. Since I'm turbo charged, after I met the torque value I went an additional 1/8 or 45* of a turn on the intake manifold bolts.

Don't trust degrees? Many manufacturers use that method for headbolts and such. Alot of inconsistencies any other way really. With those inconsistancies your 5 ftlb increase isn't increasing much hold. Just my experience, it's only an intake with 3/8" bolts so I'm sure it will be fine.

Oh, so they are actually 3/8" bolts, and not 5/16"? Then the low torque spec is even more odd then... Oh well, I'm sure he IHC people knew what they're doing on those. And yes the degree method works good, this is just how you set the preload on lifter with the rocker arms - well, never done it on an IDI, but at least on gassers this is how it's done, tighten to zero-lash then give it a fraction of a turn more and it's done.
