Ford Sync?

Anyone know how to get a BT phone to work with through trucks speakers? I have paired my phone and all works ok except I can't hear anything through the trucks speakers. Which kind of defeats the purpose of having a hands free set.

Bluetooth is simply a standard for wireless connectivity. Any Bluetooth capable phone can pair with the Sync system, but that does not necessarily mean that they are compatible. To put that into an analogy, it is like someone in France calling someone in Spain. Yes, they may both have a phone to call each other, but if one only speaks French & the other speaks Spanish, they are not going to be communicating very well.

Check Ford's Sync website to see if your phone is even compatible:
http://www.nsapp.fordtechservice.dea...N_iop_1_30.pdf

You can also create a Sync user account, log in, and check through their FAQs.
Resources for Ford SYNC owners. Create and manage your SYNC features.

Good luck.

Click on the Phone Option so that you can see the phone menu on your screen. Then to the right, there is a "Privacy" option. When you place or answer a call using the phone itself, privacy is automatically enabled. Diable that and place calls and answer calls through your screen from now on.

This is assuming that you have the touch screen sync system.

Thanks for the tips. I tried the volume, repairing it and I don't have a privacy setting on my 2010. The phone is a year old samsung. Maybe its to old to work with sync.
I've read that manual 3 times and spent at least 2 hours trying. I will have to go to the dealer.
I can use the voice command to call but I still have to talk and listen through the phone itself. Maybe the speakers aren't supposed to work on my F350?

I have the 2010 and that's the only thing that causes the sound not to be amplified through my speakers.

Do you have the GPS/Touch screen on your dash?

Some phones have seperate volume controls for when it is connected via BT. Once you have a call in place....try turning up the volume for BT on the phone itself.

That kind of indicates that your phone may not be compatible...or at least not fully compatible. Go back to my previous post, and look up your phone on the compatibility chart.

There is also a full user forum on Ford's Sync site. There are a lot of posts over there, and a lot of rather knowledgable folks--kind of like here on FTE .

My iPhone has a phone volume as well as a bluetooth volume. Sometimes the iPhone's bluetooth volume resets. When that happens I have to raise the truck's volume to nearly 100% to hear it. To correct all I have to do is raise the iPhone's bluetooth volume. When I do all is well.

Thank you.

I have been looking on the radio not the phone.

It's got to be the phone volume.
