My A/C clutch keeps engaging every couple minutes even if I have the heat on. The system is charged and has no leaks. I thought it was the clutch so I just replaced the whole compressor just in case. I replaced the high pressure switch also. It does not do it when I turn off the air and heat completely. Need helpThank you It is a 2005 f150 with the 5-4. it is the xlt.

Reason: Needed more info
Welcome to our worldI suggest you give some info on the truck, year model, trim package, engine etc.
Just "shotgunning" it here, but it sounds like you have a malfunction in the ac(climate) control assy.
Im sure someone will chime in....
If you are running any type of windshield defrost, your AC will still "lock-up" with the heat on. The defrost uses the AC to suck moisture out of the air to better clear the windshield.
If your XLT has the digital climate control, that control could possibly be the problem.
Admittedly,Im not too familiar with the way it works,as my 07 XL has the "standard" climate control assy.
I can tell you this, usually the more complex things are,the more possibility for all or part of it to "go South".
