non working temperature gauge
i have a 72 f-250 4x4 with a 390 c.i. engine and 4 speed manual transmission. the other day i noticed the temperature gauge was not working. I did not think much about it. So i bought a new sending unit and it went up to the bottom part of the E in temp, for a short while then dropped back down. I know it's possible that the sending unit may have failed. but i am also considering the fact that it's nearly a 40 year old gauge. i know a replacement gauge can be gotten cheap from most parts houses. But i was wondering is it possible to be able to restore the gauge?
