I have a 1993 F-250. Awhile ago my key switch didnt want to go back into the off or acc. position so my column was already broken so i replace the whole column, ignition switch and lock cylinder. well the keys still wont go to the same positions. I played with the column and it was the safety switch on both the columns. Finaly after three hours it worked again. Two days later. happens again so i did the same thing. it works. now every two days i have to take it apart and do the same thing over and over again. can i just remove the safety switch or is it gonna cause more problems.
the safety switch as in you have to hit it to get the key to turn back to off?? if thats what you are refering to then i donr foresee a problem with it.. its disabled in my column and gives me no issues
the reason for the part is so that when the truck is in drive or any other gears except Park you cant turn the truck into the off position and take the key out.
