Just looking for some real world long term expectations. thanks again for the help great site.

Spring change is a must, a upgraded timing chain is a good idea, as for ignition timming, start at the stock setting and go from there.

I ran that cam for 8 years in my 5.8 so my recommendation comes from first hand experience. Idle quality is stock, use a high quality double roller timing set like this one.. Cloyes Gear 9-3535X9 - Cloyes Billet Steel Timing Sets - Overview - SummitRacing.com, there is no need to advance the cam timing I ran mine straight up and the motor produced great TQ right off idle and pulled hard all the way across the tach. New springs are always a good choice but aren't absolutely necessary with this cam unless you pair it with 1.7 rockers... which is another good idea as this motor can use all the breathing help it can get, or if your motor has quite a few miles on it.
