i was actually thinking the same thing but new the stock headers are about 100 dollars a side and those clifford headers arent insanely expensive. what if the truck has gutted cats, an exhaust, and an msd coil? i appreciate your suggestion and i see where you are coming from.
The MSD coil is not going to gain you much of anything either. The same is true of the cats unless they were clogged. The cats being emptied will help some, but it will be barely noticable.
like i said earlier, i see what you mean when you say that the motor is stock. i may do more engine mods in the future and i would like to put on high performance headers while i have it apart. i just saw these on ebay
You might want to check on the 300 6 fourms , there should be someone there to give you some advice , on the SB 302-351 headers , exhaust & MSD ignition do alot of good for performance , the stock stuff just isn't very good....Lew
Yeah theres nothing wrong with them , but could they be better , yes , alot of guys on this forum are getting a good boost from the MSD coil & wires , just a hotter better spark , i don't see anything wrong with that...& the poster is looking for performance...
Thats true, alot of people are saying they saw an improvement. I actually just did a tune up on my truck and put all Motorcraft parts back on. I think its running just as good if not better than it did with the other parts I had before. I don't think the coil really gains anything. The output of the stock coil is nearly the same from what I have been reading.
I looked into headers a while back for my 300, and you will run into a problem thats not worth the little bit of power you gain, in my opinion. headers completely block in the starer motor. so if your starter goes out, you will need to completely take off your headers in order to get to it.
