alright i just bought a 2000 suprer duty and it has some problems. i knew of them when i bought it i just am going to fix it myself after i figure out what exactly needs to be done.
but the power locks do not work, when i push the button you can hear it like making that noise it makes like as if its trying to lock/unlock but nothing happens. the locks dont lock or unlock so im not sure whats going on there
for the windows, my front driver one works fine, my rear driver doesnt go up and down at all im guessing its just the actuator or something but any other possibilities. and for the passenger side, both the passenger front and rear go up and down, but once they get about halfway down they move extremely slow.....like snails pace.....so im stumped there...
um, going down. like the front and rear will not go all the way down unless i put my hand on them and push them down as i hold the button. like they are trying to go all the way down but like are sticking or something.
Just just bought a 2001SD and had the same problem. There is a known issue with the locks. A variable thermal resister (not sure what it is called) in the actuator motor fails. Last weekend I pulled the 4 locks in my truck and repaired them per the instructions in the link below. It was not a hard job, just took some time. Basically you pull the motor, open it up and jumper over the resister. It is likely there to prevent the motor from burning up. I figurei it may not last forever, but saved me the cost of replacing the locks for now.
