Two-tone 1958 F-100 Gets a New Lease on Life
After cleaning up the tank and the rest of the fuel system, the truck actually started right up! But one of the wires was broken, so the OP went ahead and replaced all the wires, spark plugs, cap, and rotor. Next up on the list was a new front end and plans for an engine swap!
“Just purchased my Crown Victoria front clip and started installing it. Removed the old one from the axle last night and hope to have the new one installed this weekend. I was able to remove the old axle without cutting anything out. Took the front end off as one piece and it only took about 12 bolts to get it off. I’ve seen others install the CV front while leaving the front fenders on. I would not recommend that or recommend taking it apart in small pieces. I plan on dropping a 302 in it. Still looking for transmission ideas.”
And that’s where this awesome F-100 project sits as of now, though it’s just getting underway. Be sure and follow along as grandpa’s truck receives its second lease on life by heading over here!
