Ranger Raptor Is Named Recovery Vehicle for Oz Supercars Event
First-ever Ford Ranger Raptor will also be on standby for all support categories and series at Supercars events throughout Australia.
The first-ever Ford Ranger Raptor has been named the official recovery vehicle for the Australia Supercars Championship.
The Ranger Raptor’s role as official recovery truck will see it on duty at various Supercars Australia events, including the flagship Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. Ranger Raptor will also be on standby for all support categories and series at Supercars events, putting its on- and off-road capability to the test.
“We’re pleased to bring the Ranger Raptor to Australian customers and to work with the SuperUtes series to showcase the Ranger line-up as a whole, reflecting Australian buyers’ who want the practicality, versatility and advanced features of the Ranger,” says Graeme Whickman, Ford Australia President and CEO.
‘Just like the F-150 Raptor, the Ranger Raptor builds upon the core capability of the range of vehicles it comes from and carries the unmistakable Ford Performance DNA appearance.’
The Ford Ranger Raptor, which will be in Australian dealerships later this year, has been developed to deliver the ultimate performance experience for off-road users, benefitting from Australian-led design and engineering at venues across the world. It builds on the Ranger’s popularity as 2017’s best-selling 4×4 Dual Cab in Australia.
“We’re excited that the awesome Ranger Raptor — the Ford Performance super truck — will be our official recovery vehicle at all Supercars events later this year,” says Sean Seamer, CEO, Supercars.
“The Ford Performance team is excited to extend the Raptor name from our flagship off-road performance F-150 to Ranger,” adds Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer, Ford Performance. “Just like the F-150 Raptor, the Ranger Raptor builds upon the core capability of the range of vehicles it comes from and carries the unmistakable Ford Performance DNA appearance.”
