Has anyone installed a pedal monster on a 7.3L? Thinking about doing one on my '23. If so did you have any issues on the installation. Did it make as much difference as people say?
Thanks for any advice.

Not a 7.3 but I typically install pedal monster on most of my vehicles. Never any issues and absolutely transforms the vehicle. Have one on my 26 6.7 as well and no it's not the same as putting your foot in it...lol
you won't be disappointed
I installed a Pedal Monster on my 2024 F350 with 7.3. OMG yes it does make a difference. The stock drive by wire throttle sucks pretty much. Way too much lag. With Pedal Monster, when I hit the gas, it flat moves. Can set it minimal effect or extreme which I found too much. Also it will not engage while backing up in reverse, very good feature.
The Pedal Monster WILL NOT HELP FUEL MILEAGE. LOL Highly recommended addition to any F250 / 350 with the 7.3 gasser. In fact I would say that is almost a mandatory addition to any Superduty truck. IMHO
wouldn't do it threw codes on my friends 7.3 for low voltage to pedal sensor thee him in limp mode on highway towing
Sounds like that was some other knock off. The Banks PM is the only one that protects against this happening as it doesn’t pull power from the wire at the pedal but instead from the OBD2 port.
OBD data enables exclusive features like Launch Trim and Reverse Safety
Using 12v from OBD prevents check engine lights and dead pedal situations that occur when power is drawn from the 5v pedal circuit. Nearly all competitors are guilty of drawing from this low-overhead circuit.

Yeah something isn't correct here. Never heard of this with 100s of installs over the years. Some knock off or defective unit would be my guess. This is one of the best mods available. Its not i think i can feel a difference its a holy **** this is awesome kind of mod.

it's a gimmick if you push pedal down further it does same thing .. he threw codes p2127 and p2138 look them up . codes were cleared after removal and never returned
I’ll be the first to say I don’t believe a pedal controller is necessary on these trucks. In my experience, even stock, the diesel has plenty of get up and go, and while it’s no sports car, I have never felt like I was in an unsafe situation without one. And no it’s not the same thing as a tune, but anyone that’s actually used one also knows it’s far from a gimmick. It’s not even the same thing as just putting your foot into it or pushing the pedal harder. A quality pedal controller will make a real difference while remaining completely emission compliant, and the right one (in this case the Banks Pedal Monster) is completely safe and will not pop codes. As the commenter above pointed out though, the wrong one can create an unsafe and undesirable situation, and from the sound of it, they don’t perform well either. So if you’re going to get one, at least get the one that has some engineering behind it and safety built into it rather than a cheap knock off.

it was a pedal boss throttle controller
You are talking about a different product than the OP is asking about.
The "pedal boss" is not the same thing as the "pedal monster". Pedal monster is made by Banks, the pedal boss is their own thing and they do not pull power from the OBD like the pedal monster. Instead it pulls power from the pedal itself, which can create the codes you were seeing. This is evident from the instructions for the pedal boss. They're even driving an LCD screen off the pedal's plug, I'm not at all surprised it caused problems.

Addressing this separately, this is a common thought, and I had the same thought initially. Plenty of smart people are skeptical that you can't just do the same thing by just pushing the pedal farther and faster with your foot but that doesn't appear to be the full story.
Do it properly, get a tune.
these gimmicks have been around since 95 or lookalike.
If you want a real difference, tune the truck properly.
Tunes create warranty complications. It is irreversibly evident in an ECU if it has been flashed, even after returning it to stock. Yes I'm aware of the Magnuson-Moss warranty act and how it requires proof that a change resulted in failure, but that burden of proof is only in effect if you go through the expense of taking Ford to court.
A pedal monster changes nothing and provides a more aggressive throttle profile without even cracking the door open to warranty claim friction.
