Rocky Ridge Makes the Raptor Even More Insanely Cool
A lift kit, electric running boards, custom wheels, and a crazy cool paint job make this Raptor stand out in an already niche crowd.
The Ford Raptor is already quite an astonishing thing on its own. However, as with any vehicle in existence, somebody is going to take it to the next level. There’s always room for improvement, and there will always be companies looking to fill that room.
Enter Rocky Ridge Trucks, the company taking Raptors and just about any other truck you can imagine and turning them into offroad ready dream machines. In a recent video posted by GReviews on Youtube, the host takes us on an in-depth look through one of these hot-rodded Raptors.
Right off the bat, this thing grabs your attention. Just a glance, and you’ll immediately recognize that this is not your run of the mill raptor.
“As you can see, the very first thing that pops out at you is that two-tone paint,” he said as he walks around the truck.
Though he calls it paint, it appears to be a wrap job. Up top is a vibrant ruby red, which fades gracefully into black around the lower half of the truck.
Underneath the truck is where Rocky Ridge does most of the modifying.
“That’s a metal skid plate, so that will definitely help if you’re really actually taking this thing off-road,” He said.
Also on the underside sits the Amp Research running boards that Rocky Ridge installs. They seem like a necessary addition since it sits four inches higher than a stock Raptor.
While the video host does show the Rocky Ridge brake calipers, he doesn’t mention the most important additions they offer. The Raptor is outfitted with heavy-duty steering knuckles, front strut tower extensions, and anti-wrap blocks in the rear to aid in preventing axle hop.
Rocky Ridge leaves the interior as it comes, but there isn’t much to improve on in there. Heated and air-conditioned seats, Bang and Olufsen sound system, and all the features you could ever want from the infotainment system are hard to beat.
“This is me sitting behind me, and I have an enormous amount of space back here,” he said as he demonstrates the ample legroom in the cab.
Overall, the Rocky Ridge packages make for a significant step above your standard Raptor. They also offer packages for cheaper trucks so that you can get quality offroad goodness for a lower budget. That’s good, too, because these Raptors are selling for over $70,000!
