Badass Truck o’ the Week: Super Sick Six-Door Excursion SEMA Build
A show truck with the best of everything can now be yours — for a price.
The famous SEMA show takes place in Las Vegas late every year. While we’re eagerly awaiting this year’s event, which runs from November 5 through November 8, we’ll whet our appetite with this former show truck that we found for sale online.
What’s important to remember about SEMA is that it’s not a car show at all – it’s a trade show for automotive aftermarket suppliers. Most exhibitors go all-out every year, building incredible show cars (and trucks) to display at their booths, and they’re constantly trying to one-up each other.
That would explain why this massive monster Excursion was built – it’s an attention-getter for sure. Even if trucks aren’t your thing, this is hard to miss due to its sheer size. We’re sure that whatever company originally built it had plenty of visitors to their booth.
Starting life as a 2002 Ford Excursion, the engine was replaced with a 2016 6.7 liter Powerstroke diesel. While it’s already a potent powerplant on its own, this one was subjected to an impressive selection of aftermarket performance parts. Bigger turbochargers, an upgraded exhaust, and custom computer tuning result in over 600 horsepower and an impressive 1,000 lb/ft of torque.
The more obvious visual upgrades include a stretched body with six doors, as well as a substantial lift kit to clear massive Interco tires. Speaking of tires, the truck was converted into a dual rear wheel setup. If you’ve ever wanted to go offroading with the entire company softball team, here’s your chance.
That’s not to say it would be cramped or uncomfortable for a medium-sized group of adults. Quite the opposite, in fact. Inside, you’ll find the complete interior from a 2016 King Ranch. According to the ad, everything works like it should, had the factory actually built a 2016 Excursion King Ranch 6-door dually. Truly a one-of-a-kind truck.
As you can imagine, putting this truck together was an exercise in excess, and the price certainly reflects that. Now offered by the appropriately-named New Auto Toy Store in Pompano Beach, Florida, it’s listed at just a hair under $200,000.
