Muddy Monday: John Deere Tribute F-150

By -

Wannabe John Deere tractor plays in puddles and calls it “mudding.”

This week’s “Muddy Monday” video features a 1981 Ford F-150 with a short cab, short bed, and an inline-6 engine paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. We don’t feature many inline-6 trucks because most off-road or racing builds feature F-150s with V8 power, but not this green half-ton Ford!

Unfortunately we don’t have a mods list, so we don’t what kind of work, if any, has been performed to the 300-ci motor. Based on how the F-150 sounds while racing through the mud, it’s safe to guess that it’s stock, or very near stock. Therefore, this truck only has around 125-horsepower and 250-lb-ft of torque, or at least it did when new! In the end, it looks like that’s more than enough to allow this old-school F-Series to storm through the muddy water.

Although the engine sounds like it’s stock, the custom paint job is unmistakable, and it is what caught our eye when searching for a “Muddy Monday” video. The mix of green with bright yellow is clearly inspired by the John Deere brand, and just like a Deere, this truck chugs through the muck without breaking a sweat.

Crank up your speakers and enjoy!
