The groovy spirit of the 1970s lives on in restored Ford Econoline van and matching Pinto shaggin’ Wagon. Can you dig it?

This year’s L.A. Auto Show delivered a slew of awesome vehicles. But easily one of the most memorable is comedian Jeff Dunham’s 1977 Ford Econoline Cruising Van and matching 1977 Pinto Cruising Wagon. Dunham’s one-two punch of Seventies automotive nostalgia is definitely a far-out trip back in time.

Displayed by Galpin Autosports, the silver-striped vehicles have been restored to their former glory, with a few upgrades that make this duo a couple of solid brick houses.

Dunham first purchased the Pinto then went on the hunt to find the Econoline. Once he found the Cruising van, he knew he had some restoration work ahead of him to reach their true potential.

The van received a custom paint job, graphic stripes, and bubble porthole windows. He added a roof rack and front spoilers. The interior, of course, would need some shag carpeting. He also added captain chairs and dual racing mirrors. Perfection.

The van got mag wheels, raised white letters on thin whitewalls.

His Pinto was already in pretty great shape, funky and period-correct.

Together, they are the dream team of 1970s style. We don’t care what anyone says, the striping still holds up, and is a perfect throwback to the glorious van culture of the era.
